This article whacks and hacks with Google has two purposes. The first is to explore why no matter how good your articles/content is, and how much SEO you do Google after indexing web pages does not show the content. Below you will find some interesting whacks and hacks I discovered when researching SEO options.
Why Does My Page Not Get Listed On Google
So I have to come to the conclusion that no matter how much content, how great, how perfect, and how much keyword research I do for SEO I will not win in the short term. The reason SEO does not work for some subjects like “web design” and “SEO” is that the internet and Google are bloated with the subject matter.
I realized even though I hate it that local SEO was Google’s only solution to present a new category on the internet for certain subjects. When you have 1 million pages on the subject “web design” and more than half or of equal value in quality there has to be a breakdown, per se why Google went to a Local SEO focus. So if you want to be found in a very competitive field you need to focus on Local SEO.
For Example Local SEO
I went in and made some minor adjustments to my main page for local SEO by adding my city. Within a few days, I had impressions coming up for Tulsa web design, SEO, marketing, and others in Google Search Console. I already had my business in Google Business listings, but I did not see the impressions until I optimized for it on the main page.
I had a reason for not doing so. My business for web design, SEO, and marketing is not limited to the local area only. BUT I have never promoted the business on Google and until recently had put out very little content for the website.
Since I decided to promote the business I have been checking my largest competitors and found they have thousands of web pages versus my 200. They have many more backlinks than I have. For that reason, it is going to take me possibly years to optimize the website for the primary keywords in my industry. I am also doing long-tailed keyword optimization. Web design is one of the most competitive industries on the internet. I figure if I can beat the odds with it I can eventually increase my business.
Google Whacking For SEO
Google whacking is a game people play of trying to find two-word searches that Google will return zero results for. The days of Google Whacking two words are over, there is just too much content on the internet.
I have been using something similar as part of my keyword research. I include quotes on a search term to make sure no one is using the exact same phrase or page title as I use. For example “Whacks and Hacks With Google” gets zero results as long as you include quotes. This is a good way to find book titles to use also. It does not help much with Google SEO directly but unique titles and website addresses will still pop up on the first page of Bing and Yahoo search results.
Also, once Google indexes your web page and you search for the term with quotes, you will be the only result. It might not get you money but it does feel good to know you are unique.
EXAMPLES: These are quoted phrases with low results – look for Glenn Website Design
- “optimizing wordpress for page speed”
- ” Targeted Audience – Niche Markets”
- “simple website design package”
- “long-tailed keyword phrase”
- “seo analysis of competition”
