OK before we get into the details of how to SEO in Las Vegas for your business website using Local SEO, let me briefly explain what Local SEO is about. For the purpose of this discussion, we are going to forget SEO completely. We are going to discuss a new term GO (Google Optimization). The reason being is that Google in America has cornered the search engine market providing nearly 90% of all SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) or in other words who people use. If you want your business found, you need to be on the first page of Google.

Local SEO / GO What Is It

Let’s throw in another term GLO, (Google Local Optimization). It is all about getting your website listed on Google maps and Google SERP as #1 for keywords that people use for your business wherever they are at the time. That especially includes LOCAL.Google uses GPS to determine the general location of the person doing the search. This means that a person physically in Las Vegas will get a completely different SERP than say someone in Tulsa. The example on the left is someone at a hotel in Las Vegas looking for a place to buy some playing cards. On the right is another person but after searching Google for the same words they came up with a completely different GRP. (Google Result Page)

How do you tell Google that your business sells playing cards in Las Vegas?

Website Local SEO/GLO

Make sure you have the correct address, phone number, and email listed in your website footer and on your contact page. Have high-quality content that explains what you sell and who your target community is if it is local. You can support local events and announce this on your website. All of this lets Google know who, what, and where you are so when someone searches they list your business.

Get Listed With Local Directories

Google Local Business – This is a completely FREE service that Google offers and it is simple to use. Just go there and tell Google about your business. This will get you listed on Google maps. BEWARE there are now automated SCAM phone services posing as Google to sucker you into paying them to do this for a nice sum. Google does not call people to solicit business.

Yelp – This is a local business listing service that I have found very reliable.

MOZ Listing Score – A nice tool to see how your business is already listed across various online channels.

There are many more and it could not hurt to list your business with all the online directories you can find. The main two I have had good results with are Google and Yelp.

Social Media

Get involved on social media like Facebook, Twitter, and more. By letting people know why you are special to the local area it will help boost your business both online and offline. Let them know how to find your business, website and how to contact you.

Superior Content

You cannot have GLO without GSEO. The same thing is required for all SEO is needed to get you accepted in the local listings.
